Our Club is participating in TerraCycle’s nationwide innovative recycling program to save oral care waste and cleaning product packaging from landfill.
Pratten Park Bowling Club is proud to support this environmental initiative and start a recycling hub open to club members and the Ashfield community. All the proceeds from this recycling fundraiser will be donated to a fantastic local group that does so much for the area- the Exodus Foundation.
TerraCycle’s innovative recycling Brigade® program allows any group, workplace or individual to sign up and collect unrecyclable waste and send it to TerraCycle via Australia Post at no cost. Waste is recycled into industrial products such as plastic shipping pallets and railway sleepers.
TerraCycle Australia collects other difficult to recycle waste streams, working with major brands: Colgate to recycle used toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and other oral care waste, Natures Organics to recycle used cleaning, laundry and beauty packaging waste, and with Nespresso to expand their recycling program for their coffee capsules.

How does it work?
Once enough waste is collected, collectors log into their account and print a free prepaid Australia Post shipping label to return their box or satchel at no cost. For every kilogram sent in, $2.00 is donated to the collectors’ nominated charity. The collected waste is recycled into plastic shipping pallets and other items for industrial use.

There are two ways to join the local recycling effort:
- Local residents can collect from home by signing up to the brigade online www.terracycle.com.au and post their shipment for free and nominate a charity or not for profit of their choice.
- Residents can simply drop their oral care waste or cleaner product packaging waste to the club. Contact Gordon Latham, 42 Arthur St, Ashfield 0413 015 112
